Carex lurida /  Sallow Sedge

This sedge grass grows to 3 ft in height and 2 ft in spread.  Blooms May threw September with a green bloom.  Needs full sun to part shade.  Low maintenance in medium to wet soil.  Zone 3 to 8.

Eleocharis / Spikerush

Thin (1/32") leaves 4-10 inches tall underwater (2-3 inches in terrestrial/bog applications), without apical plantlets. The thin stalks growing in small bunches of two to sixteen; with many roots. 

Eleocharis compressa / Flat-Stemmed Spike Rush

This slow growing Sedge Grass grows to about 2 ft in height.  Has a foliage of color of green.  Has a long lifespan.  Needs sun, bloom period is early summer.

Elymus canadensis glaucifolius / Canada Wild Rye

A tall perennial grass with a drooping inflorescence growing in moist forested areas. Glumes are well-developed and the lemmas have awns. The rachis does not break apart when mature.

Muhlenbergia reverchonii / Seep Muhly

Seep muhly is a 2-3 1/2 ft. grass with dense tufts of slender stems and foliage. Old basal sheaths form a curly, fibrous mass at the base of the plant. The seed head is delicate, purplish and branching. Has a bloom of pink and brown, blooms August through November.  Needs full sun, dry soil and medium water use.

Scirpus americana / Olney's Bulrush

A robust sedge with triangular pale green stems to about three feet. Blooms from May through September.  It is common in damp and swampy places.  Spread is 2-3 feet.  Zone 3-9

Spartina pectinata / Prarie Cord Grass

Dark green glossy leaves that are salt tolerant.  Warm season grass, spreads by rhizomes and can be invasive.  Has strong upright to arching stems, medium to coarse.   Needs sun to light shade.  Tolerates a range of soil types.  Height is 4 to 6 feet.  Zones 4-9.
